Sizer Held Accountable . . . At Last

Stephen Sizer is an Anglican vicar and author of Christian Zionism: Road Map to Armageddon (IVP, 2004), who has served as program coordinator for Christ at the Checkpoint (an anti-Zionism conference hosted by Bethlehem Bible College). I told one of the other CATC organizers, a Palestinian Christian whom I consider a friend, that I could never attend their conference as long as they kept that title–as if the Israeli border checkpoints are the biggest issue in the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors–and as long as Sizer was the program coordinator. Now, Sizer is either out of that position, or out of serving as a priest, according to his bishop.

  1. Yesterday, I posted a response to Rabbi Resnik’s “Sizer held accountable . . .At Last” and used a quote from Ezekiel 22. Today I read Ezekiel 22 in its entirety and realized I had used this quote inappropriately. I believe Psalm 72:18 more accurately describes my true sentiments.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. NRSV
